Every now and then, social media just stops working for you. No matter how well established your business is on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, the likes, comments, and view count just don’t seem to move all that often.
You start to wonder if you’ve been shadowbanned, and you certainly start to worry if your bottom line is going to survive the next month. And, no matter how strong your social media marketing really is, it just feels like your content isn’t performing as well as it should.
You’ve hit a dry spell, pure and simple. But now’s the time to get out of it! As such, here are a few ways you can recharge your social media and get back to the heights of the audience engagement you used to enjoy.
Take Part in Trends
There’s always a new trend going viral on social media. They’re a good way for an account to gain traction, whether they’re looking for a bit of buzz or want to attract new customers.
All you need to do is understand the trend, create your content around it, and post it at the right time. Make sure you’re active in the comments as well, so you can use the post to talk about what you do, the products or services you offer, and how to contact you
Look at Your Paid Ads Options
There are plenty of ways to capitalize on using ads to grow your platform. Even if you’ve never really wanted to spend money to promote your social media, it’s worth it to look into your paid ads options and see what they could generate for you.
After all, you’re essentially paying to boost your post to the top of the feed of anyone who fits your demographic and has shown an interest in similar content. Running an advert like this for a week could net you quite a few more followers, a good handful of sign-ups, and even a few more conversions. Be sure to pay attention to the rules and guidelines as they differ from platform to platform.
Talk to a Consultant
One of the best things you can do when your social media hits a dry spell is talk to a marketing consultant. Preferably, one that has experience with social media content creation and advertising. There are quite a few out there, so take time to meet with them and learn about how they can help you. Some will do the work for you, and others can teach you what you need to do to stand out above the crowd and regain your momentum. They’ll know just what to do to get your pages back up and running again.
Be a Guest on a Podcast
Many podcast hosts are often looking for guests to interview. During the interview, you can share your social media links, which will attract both existing and new followers. Some hosts will even offer special, inexpensive ways they can promote you, such as writing articles, creating audiograms, and more. It’s a service I offer to guests I interview on my podcast, “Let’s Coach with Carolyn,” and it’s helped them not only grow their social media following but also gain a few new customers. If it’s something that might interest you, reach out and let us know.
It’s rough when your social media hits a dry spell. But don’t give up! You can reignite its spark by implementing these strategies. Here’s to YOUR success!
