Would You Live In Your Business?

We’ve all seen programs like MTV Cribs or Through the Keyhole that offer a peek at celebrities’ homes. Shows like this sometimes leave us guessing who would live in a place like this. That sudden sense of mystery sees us noticing things that we never would – like the items on the bathroom shelf or what items they have in the kitchen. But, what if we played a similar game with your business premises? What do you think people would notice about you? Would people want to live in your business?

With any luck, your business premises present a positive image and message to employees and clients alike. But, with so much else on your shoulders, it’s all too easy to let things slide in this respect. Before we know it, our businesses are saying stuff we would rather they didn’t. So, what exactly do you want your business to portray?  How can you ensure that this is the case?

Clue # 1 – Professionalism

If you saw a row of expensive aftershave bottles on someone’s bathroom shelf, you’d likely consider them as someone who cares about finer things. So, how exactly can you extend that message to your office space? Firstly, you need to make sure your business premises are clean at all times with the help of commercial cleaners. You’ll also want to think about a crisp layout stocked with high-quality desks and equipment. You don’t want to have a cardboard box as your desk where you work on your computer.  Not only would that not look good, it probably would not be ergonomically sound. And, of course, you’ll need to make sure that you’re using colors that cast a professional light, such as blue, grey, brown, and black.

With more people working from home, this goes for a home office as well. When you are on Zoom or a Skype call, people can see your setup.  Make sure it reflects your brand and the industry you work in.

Clue # 2 – Trust

You have probably heard the saying, people do business with people they know, like, and trust. Professionalism won’t help if your business space doesn’t also create a feeling of trust. For example, when it comes to medical centers, garnering a sense of trust is essential for ensuring patients feel comfortable from the moment they enter the building. Employing a company like Medifit to install partitions, reception areas, and more can drastically help you achieve this goal.

Within the office space, private offices and meeting rooms can make a massive difference in garnering a sense of trust and private connection. Having private spaces will show customers and clients you care and make all the difference to your reputation overall.  You want customers and your staff to want to live in your business.

Clue # 3 – Fun

Live like a business and have fun

Often, we finally guess who lives in that massive LA house when we see what they do for fun. It’s the cinemas, basketball courts, and swimming pools that truly seal the deal! In business, too, projecting a fun image with your decor is one of the best things you can do to enhance the customer experience.  You want to ensure people have a warm, comfortable feeling towards you and the work you do. Small additions like plants, pictures, and motivational quotes are a fantastic way to achieve this goal. You may also find a cool break room with bright colors, comfortable, relaxing chairs, and more help in this quest. Either way, you want customers and employees to know precisely what kind of business you’re running when they see first hand what you like to do for fun.

Like your home, your business premises give a glimpse into your soul. Are you sure that your clients and employees are going to like what they see? Would they want to live in your business? Here’s to YOUR success!
