More and more companies are embracing blogging as a way to get the word out about there business. If you are a business owner it’s definitely something you need to consider.  Why? There are many advantages to having a blog and it doesn’t cost much to get started. Regardless of what industry you are in a blog can be a valuable asset. Read on to learn why you should start a blog for your business.

Build credibility

Blog posts are often used to give information and advice. They’re a chance to share expertise and teach your reader new things. As a result, a blog can help to build credibility for your business by proving you are an expert in your field. Of course, you do need to ensure the content you share is based on facts and is useful to your audience.

 

Improve search engine rankings

By integrating keywords into your blog content your rankings on sites like Google will improve. There are keyword tools online that you can use to help when choosing keywords.

However, finding the right keywords and applying them correctly can be tricky. You may want to hire an SEO company like SEOexplode. They can do the research for you and help you achieve page one results on Google.   

 

Encourage customers to come back

If you are consistently adding new content to your blog, you can encourage current and potential customers to visit your website on a regular basis. They will want to see the new tips and strategies you are sharing. They also get to learn more about you and your business as you share stories and experiences.

Having a blog also gives you content to share on mailing lists and on social media. You can set up a mailing list using tools such as MailChimp. Social media pages meanwhile are easy to set up if you don’t have them set up already. There are also tools for automatically sharing and scheduling blog posts on these platforms.  As your mailing list subscribers and social media followers see your new content, they will be encouraged to visit your website or to reach out to you to learn more about your product or services.

 

Make use of cross-promotion

A blog is great for cross-promotion. This is when you work with another company to promote one another. You could use your blog post to create promotional content aimed at their website and in exchange they can do the same for you. This can help you to grow your customer base and establish great relationships with other businesses.

 

Make money from your blog

A blog can also be a source of extra income itself. Once a blog starts getting enough readers, you can start making money from it through a variety of ways. One way is to displays ads. Google AdSense allows you to gain small amounts of revenue from displaying ads on your site. Another money-making strategy could be to run sponsored and affiliate posts. This is when another company pays you to write a post promoting their product. Sponsored posts often involve a flat fee while affiliate posts earn you money based on how many leads you generate for the company via your post.

There are also companies who will send you their products and in exchange, you can write a review that you share with your audience. By using keywords and search terms about their business, more people can discover your website and the products and services you provide. If you do choose to write about another company, make sure the company aligns with the mission and purpose of your business.  

 

Blogging is a great way to draw attention to your business so your customers can find you.
