A few months ago, I was honored to be a guest on the podcast Viewpoints. The host of Viewpoints, Donnell Edwards is also the founder of CWR Talk Network. CWR is an acronym which stands for Connecting Worlds Radio. To summarize, the vision of the network is to be a force in using a media platform to inform and educate listeners about key issues. Doing this will bring people from diverse racial, cultural, ethnic, economic, educational, and religious backgrounds together to be a unifying force rather than a divisive one. Thus, Connecting Worlds. During my interview, we focused on Mastering The Art of Having A Career, Not Just Finding A Job.
After my interview, I was honored to be asked to host a monthly feature where we talk about all things Careers. Not just how to get a job, but how to keep your job, build a career and deal with all the stuff that happens in life that can impact your career. This would be a show for all ages. If you’re in college, just getting started, looking to transition from to a new job or career, if you’re ready to retire, or if you are that parent about to send your child off to college the show would have something for you.
I took some time to think about it but not too long. As you probably already know, I did say yes. I thought it would be difficult to come up with a show title, but immediately Career Reels came to mind. So how did I come up with the name Career Reels for the show? Doesn’t seem to connect now, does it?
Across the globe, we spend a great deal of time in front of the TV, especially with Netflix and Hulu. We stand by and watch other peoples lives when we can be creating own movie because we really are the star of our lives. Career Reels is a show that discusses how you can become the star of your life.
Sometimes I’ll interview special guests that will share their story, tips, and strategies. You’ll also hear about hot topics and trends that can make a difference in your career or business. All our shows will focus on a topic or subject that shows you how you can reach and stay at the top of your game. This is also a time for you to call in with your career-related questions.
The first show aired in June and the focus was on goal setting. It’s a great time to revisit your goals or if you don’t have any to create them. It’s time to refocus and really take a hard, fresh look at your goals. I posed several questions for you to think about and answer such as:
Are you where you want to be?
Where are you in terms of how you want to achieve your goals and how you want to live your life?
Do you need to modify your goals?
Yes, all of this and more in 30 minutes. The show will leave you with tips, strategies, and ideas that can take your career or business to a new level.
The show only airs once a month, on the second Monday of each month from 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM EST. Why only 30 minutes? I don’t want you to get overwhelmed. If we are talking about a strategy or tip, I want you to go on out and try it. This show is for you, to help you grow and step outside of your comfort zone so you can have success on YOUR own terms.
Can’t listen live? You can always listen to the recording on Blog Talk or iTunes.
I personally invite you to tune in, every month for new episodes of Career Reels. It will definitely get you thinking and stretch you outside your comfort zone. Why? Because it’s time for you to create success on YOUR own terms.
