If you suddenly have to work from home due to the pandemic and you’re struggling to adjust – don’t worry. You have definitely come to the right place! Whether you’re not used to working from home or miss the interactions you had in the office, you need to ensure you’re doing all that you can to keep yourself motivated during this time. Luckily, there are lots of ways in which you can do exactly that. From having a comfortable place to work to communicating with your team, the more you’re doing to keep your spirits high, the better. With that in mind, here are nine ways to stay motivated working from home during the pandemic.

Make Sure You Have A Comfortable Place To Work

One of the best things you can do when it comes to staying motivated to work from home is to create a comfortable place to work.  You need to ensure you’re sitting in an environment where you can be productive. Whether this means you purchase a desk or work at your dining room table, having a comfortable space to work is important.

On a similar note, you also need to ensure you have a comfortable chair to sit on, especially if you’re going to be spending a lot of time there.  Your company may let you take your chair from work as you’re not going to be using it there. If you decide to buy one, make sure it’s right for your body type. You definitely want to consider your height and the amount of space you have in your home. For a guide to finding a comfortable chair for your office, you can visit this site here.

Don’t Work In A Room You Associate With Rest

When choosing a comfortable place to work, you need to be sure you’re not choosing a room or spot you associate with relaxing. Although it may be tempting to work from your sofa, you probably will not be very productive sitting there. On a similar note, you’re also going to find it hard to relax at night if you now associate this spot with work.

Stick To A Schedule Every Single Day

Another great way to stay motivated is to ensure you’re sticking to a schedule every single day. Although it can get boring, having a schedule is the best way to ensure you’re making the most out of your workday. For example, starting and ending your day at the same time will allow you to establish a routine. You can visit this site for tips and tricks when it comes to setting your own schedule.

Ensure You Have Everything You Need

You also want to ensure you have everything you need to perform your duties. If you’re constantly finding you don’t have the things you need to do your job properly, you’re going to get increasingly frustrated every day.  That would definitely not keep you motivated. You may want to invest in software designed to help you remove certain applications from your Mac or invest in stationery for note-taking in meetings. For more information regarding removing certain software off of your Mac, you can visit this site here: https://setapp.com/how-to/remove-bing-redirect-from-mac. The more tools and resources you have available, the easier your job will be.

Get Yourself A High-Quality Computer

Although this is something your workplace should provide to you while you’re working from home, having a high-quality computer or laptop is essential. Not only will it allow you to work seamlessly without having to pause for load times, but it will also allow you to use programs with ease. If you’re able to, your employer may allow you to take the set-up you used to use in the office home with you. This will save them both the costs and the logistics of ordering new machines for everyone.

Use Software Designed To Help You Manage Your Work At Home

If you’re finding it hard to manage your time and your work at home, you may want to consider using software designed to help you manage your work. From project management software to cloud-based storage, you may be surprised at how much easier your life can be made if you have the correct software. If you think you need a certain piece of software, it’s worth pitching to your employer to see if they’ll invest in it for you.

Try To Reduce The Number Of Distractions You Have

One of the hardest things about working from home is that you have lots of distractions. You want to try to reduce as many as possible. Consider working in a separate room away from the rest of your family. Or you may want to work in a room without a TV. You don’t want to be distracted throughout the day, or you could end up working late.

Maintain Communication With Your Team

It is important you stay connected with your team, especially when working on team projects. However, don’t forget the social aspect that came with working in an office.  From Zoom calls to Slack chats, there are lots of ways to stay in touch. You can also plan to have virtual lunches or happy hours together.

Working at home, it’s easy to forget to take time off. You can get caught up in the projects or tasks you are working on and not even take time for a break or lunch. Because you are working at home, you’ll also be less likely to think about using your vacation days. Don’t lose any of your vacation days!  You earned them, and you should use them.

You can plan a staycation and just relaxing at home. Plan a home self-care or spa day or do some fun activities you haven’t had time to do, like taking a cooking class. Tap into your creativity, and you’ll definitely come up with some great ideas.

With lots of tips and tricks to bear in mind, you can ensure you’re staying as motivated as you possibly can. What else can you do? Did we miss anything off of the list? Let us know your thoughts and ideas in the comments section below.  Here’s to YOUR success!
