Five Ways to Create Supplemental Income

This year, 2020, has made us face up to a lot of things. We have had to reconsider the way and hours we work. The result has often been a reduction in the income received. Many people have been pushed to the brink of their flexibility. And, while some can’t wait to get back into the office, others have created a whole new way of working.

It has spurred on the passion of millions to go out there and create a new small business or go freelance. They are chasing dreams of being a writer, graphic designer, or even a business coach. Others have chosen to look at ways to create supplemental income.

If you have been thinking about supplementing your income, here are a few ideas for you to consider.

Blogging

Over the past few years, blogging has become very popular.  Think about how many blog articles you read in a given week! If you look closely, you will see blogs are often used to sell products.  Not only can you sell your products, but you can promote affiliate marketing products, adverts, and more. A blog is relatively cheap to start, and in many cases, free.

Businesses will compensate you for writing about their products and services. It may not always be monetary compensation, but you may be able to obtain free products or significant discounts. You can write about the products you use,  write reviews, and so much more.  Your imagination only limits you, and it’s a great, fun way to create supplemental income.

Branch Out

If you have started freelancing or running a small business, consider other skills you may have, and put them to fair use. If you already use sites like Freelancer, Upwork, and Fiverr, create different gigs that you can complete quickly and turn a profit. These gigs can also be a nice break from your usual work. Freelance writing is a popular option, and because you can write about anything, it is easy to write in your specific niche.

Virtual or Administrative Assistant (VA)

If you have some time spare, because you are so organized, then consider serving as a virtual or administrative assistant. You are already well organized, and you can turn that free time into a money-making space. An assistant can do everything from booking travel to touching up social media posts and more. High-end VA’s can ask $100+ an hour and are more than worth it.

Shares

If you have a little bit of cash, then you might like to put it into shares. There are several automated stock and share options that can help you make smart decisions about where you spend your money. In general, investments should be thought of as long term; the supplement for your income will come further down the line. CFD Trading, real estate, equity, and even putting money into an ISA all count as investing. Robin Hood is a pioneer of commission-free investing and is a platform almost anyone can use. They also allow you to earn free stocks by inviting friends to join, as well. You can visit the platform using my affiliate link  to start earning free stock today –  Your Invitation

Turk

Amazon Mechanic Turk needs humans to complete the work. There are many different technical tasks available. These micro-tasks don’t usually take very long to complete, and they are reasonably paid (as a side hustle). Here are a couple of tasks you are likely to find on the MTurk site:

  • Tagging objects found in an image, to help the search function
  • Choosing the best picture to represent a product
  • Writing content for websites.
  • Translating content from one language to another

These are just a few ways you can earn supplemental income.  When done correctly, you can make anywhere from a few dollars each month to several hundred or thousand dollars a month.
