It’s not always a commonplace or justifiable to hire a business consultant or coach to help guide you through your struggles and success. They often have high fees, and sometimes might not be as perfect for your industry as you might expect. Of course, the vast majority are excellent and will have highly-developed training programs to help you reach your goals. But can you function by finding essential business advice yourself, especially in the early days?
I’d say it’s definitely possible.
You simply need to keep a close eye on what you hope to achieve, know your intent, and then look for the advice and guidance you need. You may find some of the information in business journals or studies of business context. It might come from assessing the history and direction of your peer companies.
In order to find what you need and stay up to date or current trends, you will want to include business education in your strategy. With the following options, you’ll be headed down the right path.
Business Podcasts
There are now many essential business podcasts out there you can tune into. And, one of the best things about podcasts is – you can listen to them anywhere! You can listen to them while at the gym, during your commute to work, or when walking through the city on your lunch break. You’ll often find the latest news, practicalities, case studies, advice and experience from a range of guests and business experts. It can also be important to listen to content from areas you might not be as familiar with. For example, you might listen to content discussing cryptocurrency, the tides of social media, branding, and how any these influence business, or statistical analysis. This can help open your worldview, and potentially help you refine your approach.
Follow Great Blogs
There are many great business blogs online. From bookmarking the best email marketing blog to looking at this one on a regular basis, distilled advice from a range of professionals can help you potentially learn new strategies and concepts in bite-sized pieces. These digestible articles are often excellent because they are timeless. A podcast might continually focus on new, trending stuff in order to stay present, while a blog will often demonstrate timeless wisdom from past case studies, and delve deeper into the analysis. There’s also something composed and structured about the written word. You might be able to read in 10 minutes what you would have heard in two hours of a podcast.
Learn From Your Past
The more expertise you gain, the more you’ll be able to dissect key moments and events with your business. This is important to consider. It can help you and your business grow. When you have more experience and a willingness to move forward, you will also often find a sense of enjoyment in analyzing your past behavior. You will begin to understand the why of many aspects of business. Why you chose certain decisions and what the ramifications of those decisions were. You will begin to develop and grow your professional wisdom and see things from a much more accurate and refined lens than previously.
With these tips, you’re sure to find the best business advice, even if it’s from yourself. Here’s to YOUR success!
